On the Right

by Francesca Del Moro

Look right,
God wins.
Do not kiss,
and do not caress
the appealing bodies, but
hurt choke break.
In the recovered ignorance
of good and evil
you will jump again
through woods generous in fruits
and rivers of milk and honey,
in the recovered ignorance
of good and evil,
you will make peace with God.
Do you remember Dario Fo
when he praised
the insane act of our first ancestors
talking about Wiligelmus
in Modena’s main square?
Look right, God wins,
and that sad communist minstrel
is approached by the wise Leopardi
who puts his hand on his shoulder,
Leopardi that wicked hunchback
with his fucking cosmic pessimism
and step-mother nature.
